Lashing chains and ratchet load tensioners must be checked by the user for obvious defects before and after each use. In addition, lashing straps in accordance with Section 8 (13) AMVO must be subject to a review at least once a year (by 15 months at the latest) by a competent person. The test should be carried out at regular intervals depending on the operating conditions.
Every second year, unless shorter periods are prescribed, a load test with a value of 1.25 times the lashing force shall be carried out in accordance with EN 12195-3.
