The Transparent Protection weather-resistive membrane features a robust, abrasion-resistant surface, which significantly contributes to its function as a construction seal and weather-resistive membrane, including during assembly and construction.
The suitability of the product when subjected to loads, e.g. walking on the membrane, is confirmed by a Martindale test in accordance with DIN EN ISO 12947-1. The test shows that after 100 abrasion cycles with an abrasive fabric of grain 240 at a nominal pressure of 12 kPa, the surface remains undamaged and watertight to Class W1.
- Transparent weather-resistive membrane for visibility of markings, connections and gaps
- For temporary sealing of wooden constructions and components
- Waterproof, airtight and vapour-permeable for long-term use on construction sites
- Non-slip, robust and highly abrasion-resistant for protection during transport, assembly and construction
- Outdoor exposure for up to 12 weeks for protection against weather conditions during construction
- Reliable protection against moisture due to the waterproof adhesive
- Three practical roll widths facilitate installation of the membrane
- Split masking film for easy application
For water-resistant installation, the membrane must be laid without any folds. When laying, smooth out the membrane, e.g. using a broom, pushing any bubbles out towards the edge. Recesses in the base material, such as grooves in wooden formwork, promote water ingress and must be avoided or compensated for.
When creating overlaps, a minimum adhesive width (overlap width) of 10 cm is required. Butt joints must be covered with a strip measuring 30 cm in width. The connection height to rising components is 15 cm.
WÜTOP® Transparent Protection ensures temporary construction protection on floor slabs for up to three months. Permanently standing water must be avoided and drained from the component surface. We recommend installing appropriate water outlets, e.g. in the event of heavy rainfall.
An accumulation height of max. 30 mm over 24 hours must not be exceeded.
