The EBT 03.3 is a modernised, digital brake fluid tester for professional workshop use. It combines a tried-and-tested sensor with updated electronics and software and delivers fast, reproducible measurements directly at the vehicle.
The following is measured:
- Water content of the brake fluid (0.1 % to 10 %)
- Boiling point (130 °C to 400 °C)
- Automatic recommendation to change
The stored brake fluid range includes DOT 3, DOT 4, DOT 4 Plus, DOT 5.1, DOT 4 Class 4 and DOT 4 Class 6.
By meeting the requirements set out in Annex 2a, point 16 of Austrian PBStV Regulation on Testing and Appraisal Bodies, the EBT 03.3 is fully compliant with §57a and is therefore legally approved for use in Austrian assessments.
The device works with indirect measurement methods as do all electrolytic brake fluid testers.
Calibration certificates can therefore not be created.
Brake fluid is corrosive. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and paintwork.
New brake fluid will not deliver any measurement values as it does not contain any water and is non-conductive.
The EBT checker is required for complete self-testing (not in scope of delivery, available through special purchase).
The EBT 03.3 is ideal for:
- Vehicle workshops of all brands
- §57a appraisal bodies (legally compliant in accordance with Austrian PBStV Regulation on Testing and Appraisal Bodies)
- Fleet operators
- Service garages for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles

1. Switch on
Briefly press the on/off button.
2. Select action
Navigate the menu using the arrow buttons
Options: Start measurement, display last measurement, send measurement, self-test
3. Select brake fluid type
Select DOT class and confirm with OK
4. Perform measurement
Immerse the sensor into the brake fluid at least up to the marking
Do not touch the side or bottom of the reservoir
After approx. 1 second the values for the following appear:
- Boiling point
- Water content
- Recommendation to change
5. Self-test (optional)
Water detection test
